BBQ Hawaiian Meatballs
(Just 3 Ingredients!)
Want to bring the most talked about dish at any potluck? Make these meatballs and that's a guarantee. With only 3 ingredients and 5 minutes of effort you could be the talk of the party--but be prepared--you may be approached by many admirers for the recipe.
I must thank my Aunt Krista for this recipe. Many times it has brought me favorable attention at parties. I have even been called a 'mad genius' before for this delectable side dish.
BBQ Hawaiian Meatballs
Ingredients
- 1 bag of frozen meatballs (or homemade meatballs)
- 1 can of diced pineapple in juice
- 1 average-sized bottle of BBQ sauce (I love Sweet Baby Rays, but any brand will do)
Directions
- Preheat the slow cooker on high.
- Spray the bottom of a large slow cooker. Place half of the frozen meatballs at the bottom of the slow cooker, then pour half the contents of the BBQ sauce bottle on top of the meatballs.
- Put the rest of the meatballs in the slow cooker, along with as much BBQ sauce as you can squeeze out of the bottle.
- Pour the pineapple juice into the BBQ sauce bottle and shake to get the remaining BBQ sauce out of the bottle, then pour the mixture overtop the meatballs already in the slow cooker.
- Spread the pineapple chunks overtop the meatballs and give the entire contents of the slow cooker a few turns.
- Let the meatballs cook on high for about 3 hrs.
Comment: If using homemade meatballs, I would recommend first freezing the meatballs before putting them into the slow cooker. While cooking, the ice around the frozen meatballs will melt and make a sauce.
