Honey Pretzel Chicken
The perfect combination of sweet and salty--honey pretzel chicken nuggets!
These nuggets taste wonderful with this honey mustard dipping sauce on the side.
McDonalds and Wendy's chicken nuggets are no match to the power of the pretzel.

Honey Pretzel Chicken Nuggets
Ingredients
Directions
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (washed and cleaned)
- 1 large bag of pretzels
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 egg whites
- 2 Tbls honey
- Oil or oil spray (for frying)
Directions
- Grind the pretzels in a food processor by pulsing (do not completely pulverize the pretzels into a powder.)
- Slice the chicken breasts in half by running the blade of your knife from the butt end of the breast to the tip to make two pieces of the same size that are half as thin as before.
- Pound the already thinned pieces of chicken. Cut the chicken into cubes, or nugget forms and lightly coat with salt and pepper (keep in mind that there will already be salt in the pretzel crumbs.)
- Make an egg wash by combining the egg whites and honey. Set aside.
- Coat the chicken cubes in flour, dip into the egg wash, and then coat with the pretzel crumbs. Fry the chicken nuggets in a heated pan, flipping halfway through, until fully cooked (this should not take long since the chicken pieces are so thin).
- Serve with honey mustard, ketchup, or some other dipping sauce.
